This North West Trade Gun was built by Rick Baker, ColonialRifleSmith.
The Gun features a .58 cal. 34.5-inch octagon to round barrel. The barrel is repurposed from an 1842 Austrian Lorenze Musket.
The barrel is in excellent condition and has been honed to a fine smoothbore surface.
Due to the high cost of commercial locks, I now build my locks from rough cast sets. I pass the $150.00 to $200.00 savings on to you.
Cast venders are Chris Hirsch-Antique gun parts castings, The Rifle Shoppe, and Upper Missouri Trading Co.
The forearm has a knot which gives the musket a personal characteristic unlike any other.
The front sight is a soldered-on silver horse head.
The stock is a Rich Red Pennsylvania Wild Cherry finished with 2 hand rubbed coats of Tung Oil and 3 applications of BriWax.
The furniture is traditional brass with a steel large bow trigger guard.
The Length of pull is 14.5-inches. Overall length is 50.5-inches.
The Trade Gun weighs in at 6 pounds.
