This musket has somehow escaped conversion to caplock. Still in its original state, this musket is indeed a rare find. All the metal parts gave matching marks in the same places, which tell me all the parts are original to this musket.
The lock works as intended and is crisp.
The bore is in very good condition with no pitting visible. When I run a patch down the bore it’s smooth all the way except near the breech where I can feel some roughness.
There is a small crack in the stock near the forward lock bolt that has been repaired and is solid. In fact, the stock, the entire musket is very solid. The musket is missing its forward sling swivel.
