French Tulle “Fusil De Chase”
“Une fois qu’ils en auroient connula difference, on ne pourvoit plusleur en faire accepter diautres.”

(Once they know the difference, they will not accept anything else.) That’s what the early 1760’s French fur traders said of the Indians in regards to the Tulle “gun of the hunt”.
This gun quickly won the hearts of the voyageurs, traders, Indians and eventually Rogers Rangers.

R-695 Tulle Canoe Gun

The “Fusil De Chase” or hunting gun was lighter, slimmer and certainly much more graceful than the military weapons of the times. Named after the armory where they were produced in France, it was imported in large numbers and traded throughout North America and the Caribbean.

Originals were stocked in a variety of hardwoods, but mostly walnut and maple. Its graceful flowing lines and light weight made it an instant favorite.

Most were trimmed in iron since the brass version was considerably more costly in terms of beaver pelts.

The Sitting Fox Tulle canoe gun is one of our most popular models. It is somewhat more complex to build than the North West Trade Gun but the results are worth it.

We know you will be pleased with this faithful reproduction of a frontier favorite. Here are the specs.
