The early style French club butt shape in Curly Maple begs a closer look. It has the distinctive S shaped curve carved into the stock that sets it apart from all others. It’s further enhanced by wire inlay in German Silver in an intricate floral design, suitable for a chief’s presentation grade trade gun.
French Merchant Trade ships were required to carry a dozen of these guns, in various grades, to trade with the natives and seal trade agreements and treaties on their travels from the Caribbean to Newfoundland.
The brass butt plate is cast from very detailed chisel engraved French original from The Rifle Shop, with matching trigger guard and thimbles.
The lock is the RE Davis French trade lock. It is highly polished and cast assembled and tuned right here in the USA and fully guaranteed.
