Poor Boy (Schimmel) .45 Cal. Flintlock Long Rifle
This is an excellent rifle built by noted contemporary gunmaker, ColonilRifleSmith. The rifle features a 32″ .45 cal. 7/8ths straight octagon barrel with a roundball twist.
The stock is a beautiful M3 Curly Maple with a nice grain pattern, stained to an antique Golden-brown with golden highlights that glow in the sunlight.
The lock is a Dixie Gun Works Mountain Rifle Lock. The lock has a very fast throw and a shower of sparks.
The butt does not have a butt plate, but is very smooth and polished. The length of pull is 14″. Perfect for today’s average shooter.
The rear sight is a flat top, steel Kentucky-style sight. The front sight is a brass barley-corn-style sight.
The furniture is hand-made of steel, antiqued for that authentic look.
The barrel is pinned with 3 underlugs and pins. There is one forward thimble and no entry thimble.
The rifle uses a single trigger, set for easy touchoff.
Total length is 48″.
The rifle weighs 7 pounds 2 oz.
