RTF-344 Appalachian Barn Gun #4

Here is a newly built unique Colonial barn gun fowler assembled by Rick Baker, Colonial Rifle Smith. It is completely assembled in the white, fully functional and now ready for your choices of final wood and metal finish. The same Barn Post Beetles that riddled the barn wood post got into this stock too and left some very interesting worm holes and tracks that make this stock very unique. In fact you may want to use a black Sharpie to highlight the tracks. so they stand out in final finish. The stock is crafted from CM-4 Curly Maple and inlet for the 42” Colerain octagon to round barrel is in 20 ga. so it has light weight and great balance.

The lock is the L&R Classic Queen Anne Fowler flint lock featuring Germanic 1750-1770 styling, with rain resistant frizzen flange and decorative spring internally mounted. This finely made lock has improved lock geometry, raised and polished bearing surfaces on the tumbler and sear make for less friction and faster lock times. They are cast, assembled, tempered and tuned here in the USA and parts and service is easily available and guaranteed.

The trigger is a single high pinned and plated one with an easy release. It is housed in an English styled Fowler type trigger guard in and butt plate in iron. The rest of the trim is in steel as well. The butt plate is in fowler style with a gentle curve and smooth top for ease of handling and comfortable shooting.
