North West Trade Gun .75 cal.

This is a North West Trade Gun in .75 cal. Smoothbore built by noted contemporary gun builder ColonialRifleSmith.
The musket features a .75 cal., 32-inch, tapered round smoothbore barrel.

The stock is hand-carved from very old, old-growth Pennsylvania walnut, hand-rubbed, and finished with Tung Oil and Briwax.
The metal is finished with a French Blue antiquing.
There is no rear sight. The front sight is a brass turtle-solder-on style.

The lock is a Ketkand Flintlock assembled from an ‘Upper Missouri Trading Co.’ casting set. The lock has very fast timing and throws a shower of sparks.

The furniture is the appropriate brass, except for the trigger guard, which is handmade carbon steel.
The length of pull is 14 inches, and the overall length is 45.5 inches. The musket weighs a light 6.9 pounds.
