Brunswick P-1841 Late Model Officer’s Musket.
This is a restored Brunswick P-1841 Late Model Officer’s Musket. Smoothbore, not a 2 grove musket.
The stock is European Walnut. It had a small crack next to the trigger, which was repaired with 2-part epoxy. The stock was solid before the repair and even stronger afterward.
The barrel is .36 inches and is in very good condition. There is no outside oxidation or pitting. The bore has very light pitting, which has been honed and is in very good condition.
The musket is listed as a .70 cal., however, the barrel mic’s out at .675.
The Lock is a Back Action lock that functions as intended with string springs. The nipple takes a ‘4 Wing Musket Cap’.
In the pictures, there is no rear sight. I ordered one and will install it when it arrives. The musket will have a rear sight.
