This is a very rare Mowrey Rifle. Manufactured in Olney, Texas, circa 1960s to early 1970s, .45 cal., and is in Excellent Condition.
The bore is in excellent condition. This rifle has had minimal use and was well cared for. The rifling is as new and is slow twist for round ball accuracy.
From the pictures, you can see the condition of the outside. Minor handling dings, however, all the brass furniture is tight to the wood.
The front thimble is soldered to the barrel. The screw had fallen out and was lost.
The mainspring shows slight fatigue but remains strong and fires the caps without issue.
The stock is hand-carved Texas Walnut.
This Mowery rifle is rare in the fact that very few were made with a barrel length of 22″.
The Length of pull is 13″, and the total length is 38″. The rifle weights 8pounds 5oz.
